Parishioners of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church Federal Housing, Onitsha, Anambra State have lauded their parish vicar, Rev. Fr. Gerld Okoye who was among the 13 priests obtained 1st class degree in Bachelor of Theology at Blessed Iwene Tansi Major Seminary, Onitsha,an affiliate of Institute of pontifical Urban University Rome.

Some parishioners who stormed Blessed Iwene Tansi Major Seminary, Onitsha playing ground to witness their 7th convocation ceremony of 2020 set expressed their joy over the brilliant performance of their Parish vicar, Fr. Gerld who also read the valedictory speech on behalf of his classmates.

One of the parishioners and leader of Parish church prefects, Mr. Ifeanyi Micheal Okonkwo described Fr. Gerld as a gifted priest who does not preach homily like a new priest.

“Fr. Gerld is our parish vicar, he preaches well, he is intelligent and a dedicated priest. May God continue to inspire him more and protect him and his ministry”.

Equally speaking, a legal Icon and a knight of the Church, Prince Chiduabo Kingsley Kananechukwu Esq eulogized Fr. Gerld for his academic brilliance, urging him to apply his 1st class position from his prestigious Alma mater to win more souls for Jesus Christ.

“The advice I should give to Fr. Gerld as one of the new priests and our vicar is the same advice l use to give to the old priests, so that they should discharge their pastoral duties for the glory of God and for the betterment of humanity. I wish him long life, good health, and God’s grace. May he continue to aspire to obtain more first class degrees and prosper in the priesthood vocation.”
