It was a busy week for governor Soludo, his deputy Onyeka Ibezim and others as they tackled mountains of refuse dumps dotted across the state.
Bucket loaders, tippers and workmen were massively mobilised to evacuate the refuse which is still on going.
In Onitsha, the deputy governor Hon Onyeka Ibezim and the member representing Onitsha Constituency 2 in the state house of Assembly,Hon Eddy Ibuzo led the evacuation excercise.
They were spotted at the Ochanja roundabout where the refuse blocked all sections of the road such that it was difficult for road users to pass freely.
Heavy trucks and bucket loaders and staff worked round the clock to open up roads blocked by the refuse heaps.
In an interview with me,the deputy governor Hon Ibezim commended governor Soludo for his initiative and prompt action.
Ibezim assured that he will ensure the workers evacuate the rubbish to give way for normal business around the market.
In his contribution,Hon Eddy Ibuzo said he was delighted that the evacuation excercise was going on as scheduled to save the people from health hazard.
He commended governor Soludo for his prompt action in tackling the menace.
