One of the Anambra gubernatorial aspirants under the umbrella of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Nonso Smart Okafor says he has filed an appeal over his disqualification by the party’s screening committee on the 14th of June 2021.
Honourable Smart in a statement made available to newsmen said he has strong reservations on the grounds of his disqualification.
Smart Okafor said though as a law abiding member of his party, he has submitted an appeal to the Appeal Committee through the National Working Committee of the party as stated in the party’s guideline.
However, he said while they wait for the outcome of the Appeal Panel, he also urged his supporters, families and well wishers to remain calm.
The statement read in part, “Dearest Friends,
“Yesterday, we got the sad news of my disqualification from participating in the Governorship Primary of my party, All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
“I have very strong reservations on the grounds of my disqualification.
“As a law-abiding member of my party, I have submitted my APPEAL to the Appeal Committee through the National Working Committee of our party as stated in our guideline.
“While we await the result of the Appeal Panel, I urge all our friends, supporters, families and well wishers to please remain calm. I will address us in details after the Appeal Panel releases the result.

“Thank you all.”
