On Friday 15th October 2021,the remains of Monsignor Boniface Asuzu were buried at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity cemetery,Onitsha.
The Archbishop of Onitsha,Most Rev Valerian Okeke presided over the burial mass assisted by dozens of priests from the Archdiocese.
Members of the Asuzu family,their friends and sympathisers besieged the Basilica to bid farewell to the late Monsignor.
In his remarks,the Archbishop said,”we will miss his visual presence among us and we mourn his departure being children of God and men with faith and hope,we look forward the resurrection and his enjoying eternal bliss in the company of the sanctified”.
In a homily, Monsignor Asuzu was described as a fearless priest who gave everything for the good of the church and humanity.
He was said to be always ready to work and always wanted to feel the presence of his brother priests inspite of his I’ll health.
Monsignor Asuzu was an asset to the mother church.Aside numerous other positions he held,he was the founder and chairman,Catholic Association of Media Practitioners(CAMP) and member,African Council for Communication Education.
A funeral oration presented by the Onitsha Archdiocesan Presbyterium was read by Rev Fr Emmanuel Oguejiofor.
