The chief executive officer of St Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital, Onitsha, Rev. Dr. Izunna Okonkwo, on Sunday congratulated the chief shepherd of Onitsha archdiocese, His Grace, the Most Rev. Valerian M. Okeke, who recently marked his 41st priestly anniversary, describing him as a prelate who saw tomorrow. Fr Izunna described the 41 years as dedicated, selfless, sacrificial, innovative and mentoring service to God and humanity. According to him, the archbishop has mentored a lot from the archdiocese and beyond as pastor and as the first parish priest in Umuoji, as rector of  Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu, and also as co-adjutor, and substantially the archbishop of Onitsha.”He is someone who brings a lot of transformation anywhere he worked as a pastor. Using St Charles Borromeo where I work as an example, he has brought in a lot of positive revolution within the health care sector and also in other areas like the education sector which we all see has a lot of mission schools within the archdiocese that are receiving awards and accolades on both the national and international levels. He is the man behind all these; most often we describe him as ‘the man that saw tomorrow.’ He is the man who, while he is walking, you will be running to meet up his steps both physically, spiritually, mentally and all the rest of them.”The CEO further described the archbishop as a rare gem, a unique gift to the archdiocese of Onitsha, a unique gift to the Nigerian church, to the Catholic church in general, and by extension, he is a special gift to humanity at large. “We continue to pray that the Lord God will continue to grant him health of mind and body to continue to do the good work for which God himself has selected him to do, and I use this platform to invite other priests to look unto him as somebody who has a lot of things which one can emulate.”
