The Archbishop of Onitsha His Grace Most Rev Valerian Okeke on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 paid a one day pastoral visit to St Martins Catholic Hospital and Maternity, Ugwuagba Obosi.
In his speech during the visit, Archbishop Val commended the hospital’s management, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the hospital Rev Fr Clement Ugochukwu Obi and the entire staff for their doggedness in ensuring that quality health care services were being provided for the residents of the area. He recalled how the hospital started from the scratch but now has grown into a big hospital. The prelate further expressed hope that very soon the said hospital will begin to compete with other hospitals in the developed countries to the extent that every eqipment and facility will be available so that patients may not have need to visit another hopital.
In a welcome address, the hospital management thanked Archbishop Val who is also the proprietor of the hospital for his love, kindness, prayers, financial support and priceless admonition towards the growth and development of the hospital.
The hospital also disclosed thier recent achievement such as continual improvement of general infrastructure, power supply, Radiological/ Sonographical section, laboratory department and theatre, adding that the hospital has greatly improved in her services.
The hospital CEO Fr Clement Ugochukwu Obi in his remarks expressed gratitude to the Archbishop for his magnanimity to the hospital, explaining that the prelate has been very supportive of their development.
The Archbishop in a special way appreciated one of the staff that emerged the best staff of the year with a cash prize. Other staff also smiled home with different gifts from the Archbishop.
Earlier in the Holy Mass that kick-started the event, Archbishop Val urged faithful to remain thankful to God for the rest of the year spent, and for the coming year.
