The Archbishop of Onitsha during the week hosted members of the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO)Onitsha Region led by Mrs Uju Ikpeama after they won the singing competition to mark the World Union of Catholic Women Organisations (WUCWO) day which activities ended in the Archdiocese.
While receiving the officials who came to present the trophy,the Archbishop congratulated them for their doggedness and urged them to maintain the tempo.
The Archbishop said he was delighted that the CWO Onitsha Archdiocese led by Dame Ngozi Nwanosike is making waves having rounded off the weeklong activities of the WUCWO successfully.
President of the Basilica CWO Pharmacist Ify Onochie who presented the trophy to the Archbishop,thanked him for making out time to receive them saying that the Archbishop has always been a good father to them.
In her remarks,the treasurer,Mrs Queen Chinwe Anyaora,said it was the encouragement given to CWO Basilica Parish by all concerned that energised them to win the trophy.
The Archbishop presented gifts to the women with a cash token to go with it.
Earlier,the women were received by the Rector of the Basilica Very Rev Fr Dr Nwokedi Ezumezu with a host of other priests who congratulated them on their victory.
