Today is Palm Sunday.
Christians across the world had a low key celebration in their various churches to commemorate the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.
At the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha, Sir Victor Ononye reports that the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha,Most Rev Valerian Okeke led few hundreds of priests, religious and the faithful in a solemn procession from the Basilica Square to the Basilica Church where he presided over a Eucharistic celebration.
He was assisted by the Chancellor of the Archdiocese, Very Rev Fr Prudentius Aroh, the Vice Chancellor, Very Rev Fr Basil Ekwunife, the Rector of the Basilica, Very Rev Fr Nwokedi Ezumezu and other priests.
The Archbishop’s homily during was anchored mainly on holding on strongly to our faith and avoid dishonesty, greediness and double standards like Judas who wanted money by all means.
Avarice and love for money the Archbishop maintained, is the capital of all sins.
The Archbishop had earlier blessed the palm fronds before the procession.
