The Catholic bishop of Awka diocese, His Lordship, the Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, has advised the faithful to always seek the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in all their affairs and endeavours as she has the power of assisting them to obtain what they desire. Bishop Ezeokafor stated this when he blessed an ultra-modern Marian grotto at Christ the King Parish, Adazi-Nnukwu, Anaocha LGA, Anambra State, August 7, during his pastoral visit that featured the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation on 198 deserving faithful. Blessing the grotto, Bishop Ezeokafor re-emphasised the importance of respecting Mary, the mother of God, saying that the respect and honour which human beings accord her could never equal the one given to her by God. He said that Mary has proved countless times and at different occasions to be an intercessor of the human race.Leading in the Eucharist celebration, Bishop Ezeokafor expressed happiness over the visit and recalled that his last official visit at the parish was in 2015, noting that pastoral visits were designed to aid the bishop to have adequate knowledge of happenings in various parishes. In his homily, the diocesan bishop stressed the importance of Christians to be ready at all times to answer God and noted that following the guidelines which Christ has put in place is among the qualities a good Christian must possess. He identified faith and usage of God’s given resources as important elements in the heavenly race. He stated  that Christians should be ever ready to answer God’s call whenever it comes, saying that such an individual must build good and effective relationships with God.Speaking at the pastoral visit, the parish priest of Christ the King Parish, Rev. Fr. Fabian Bielu, thanked God for making the visit a reality 7 years after the bishop’s last visit.
