The newly built gingatic rectory at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church Otolo Nnewi in Nnewi North LGA of Anambra State has been blessed and commissioned by the Catholic bishop of Nnewi diocese, Most Rev. Hilary Odili Okeke.
The event began with Holy Eucharistic which presided over by Bishop Hilary Paul Odili Okeke” Nna Ora” during which he told the congregation to live a righteous life so that after their lives on Earth, they would be able to stay with God for eternity.
He emphasized the need for every Christian to live righteous life as a basic tools to worship God, just as he poured accolades on the parish priest for erecting a gigantic rectory in the parish.
Rev. Fr. Francis Enwerem who delivered sermon reminded the congregation that God created world through a spoken word, explaining that such ability depicts that God is an omnipotent and omniscient.
Speaking to newsmen, the parish priest Rev. Fr. Ephraim Chukwuma revealed that he wanted to be discouraged when he planned to build the father’s but he trusted God, disclosing that the magic in erecting the building never came from the parish.
The priest who said he has stayed for four years in the parish stated that the project as at last period he checked the cost has consumed over #30 millions naira before he completed it. While appreciating the parishioners he disclosed that the house project didn’t last up to years.
The vice Chairman parish council, Chief Emmanuel Obi Okeke testified that the parish priest, Fr. Chukwuma initiated the ideas of building the new rectory house and he completed it within the shortest period of time.
” We appreciate our parish priest for his tremendous achievements in our parish. He made efforts to raised money from outside and ensured he completed this project. We are grateful to him and delighted with bishop Odili Okeke who commissioned it”
Similarly, the second vice Chairman parish council, Mr. Emeka Okoye a.k.a Banjiba noted that how the parish priest managed to raise funds for the completion of the building beyonds his imagination, stating that the parish funds in the project is not up to half of its cost.
He described Fr. Chukwuma as a workaholic priest, disclosing that he also built Church edifice in his former parish before he was transferred to their parish. ” Infact, pastoral talents differs from individuals. May God continue to straighten and shower Fr.Chukwuma with wisdom”.
The former parish president CWO Ledy Nnabuchi Lucy equally commended the parish priest, saying that since he was posted to their parish parishioners are experiencing positive changes.
