The auxiliary Bishop of Onitsha His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Denis Isizoh last Sunday, March 7, 2021 paid a one day pastoral visit to St Joseph’s parish Aguleri where he is currently residing.
The spectacular event witnessed confirmation of over hundred candidates and anointing of the sick ones by the Bishop.
In his homily, Bishop Isizoh reminded the faithful about three things they must do in Lenten season which include redoubling their prayers, fasting/ abstinence and being charitable. He also encouraged the people of God to study the letters of St Paul to Corinthians as part of their Lenten activities.
The prelate further urged Christians to always be patient with God especially when facing challenges and constantly look at the cross in times of pains and difficulty.
Bishop Isizoh advised those who ran away from Catholic Church after baptism to return or face the consequences at the last day, stressing that sacrament of baptism can never erased.
The parish priest Very Rev. Fr. Matthew Obiekezie in appreciation thanked the Bishop for visiting the parish, adding that his usual support and encouragement has been sustaining them. The parish priest also appreciated the parishioners for their cooperation and sacrifices.
Various groups in the parish took turns in paying homage to the Bishop during the colourful reception staged at the event.
