President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged to help the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma fight insecurity.
Buhari said he would use his constitutional powers to assist Uzodimma in fighting insecurity in the state.
He spoke during the commissioning of Egbeada-Onitsha bypass road in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
The president also pledged to help Uzodinma deal with infrastructural deficits of the state.
According to Buhari: “I have gone round and I am impressed with what I saw. A society without security and infrastructure will not progress and luckily this is where my vision has tallied with the governor of Imo State. I will use my power as enshrined by the constitution to make the governor achieve more.”
Despite the heavy presence of security operatives in every part of Owerri, the Imo State capital, a mammoth crowd was witnessed who in turn received President Muhammadu Buhari during his one-day working visit to Imo State on Thursday.
Report monitored from lmo State said President Muhammad Buhari commissioned projects such as Nekede Road, Egbeada Bypass, Balloon drainage system and New Exco Chamber and Lounge in the State.
The President who flew into the heartland city of Owerri from Abuja on Thursday morning proceeded to a town hall meeting with Southeast leaders on the best possible ways to stop the incessant killings in the zone.
President Muhammad Buhari while commisioning the projects in Owerri at the Egbeada Bypass in Owerri North Local Government Area, Buhari commended Governor Hope Uzodinma for his proactiveness towards governance and promised to ensure that whatever that is needed to continue in the development of infrastructure will be provided for by the Federal Government.
The President said the projects will boost economic activities in the State and ease traffic congestion.
He said all projects commissioned were in line with his administration policy of infrastructural developments towards energizing the economy of Nigeria
