Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) last Friday assured the Nigerian public, that on going Continuous Voters Registration ( CVR) exercise will run until 30th, Jun, 2022.The resident Electoral Commissioner INEC , Anambra State Dr Nkwachukwu Orji who gave the assurance during a Press briefing at Awka, disclosed that Anambra INEC has observed a recent surge in the number of citizens seeking to register during the on going CVR exercise, stating that the surge put substantial pressure on the resources and capacity of the commission. The REC further revealed that the commission is already addressing the challenges through measures such as creation of additional registration centers in the state and LGA offices as well as reopening of some LGA offices that were shut down as a result of insecurity.On behalf of the commission, he appealed to prospective registrants to exercise patience and understanding with the situation. Dr. Orji also reminded the public that registration in the CVR exercise is free of charge and urges citizens to report to the state INEC any extortion or any form of misconduct from any staff of the commission ruining the CVR exercise.
