The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Tony Olofu has assured the arrest of killers of late HRH Igwe Alex Edozieuno.
The CP stated this when he led some Senior Officers from the Command to the palace of late Monarch in Nkpunando, Eziagulu-Otu to commiserate with the family, friends and the Community of the late Monarch.
He said the Command would leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of the Monarch, assuring that the perpetrators would be brought to book.
“I want to assure all of you that the Police Command shall leave no stone unturn, to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of the late HRH Igwe Alex Edozieuno, arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book,” he said.
While praying for the repose of his soul, Mr. Olofu enjoined anyone with any useful information to aid the ongoing investigation to please come forward, assuring that confidentiality is guaranteed.
To receive the Commissioner, Prince Chinedu Edozieuno, thank the Commissioner and his team for their efforts so far especially as they show concern over the incident.
The Commissioner was accompanied by, DC Yakubu Mohammed, DC Salman Dogo, CSP Godwin Mba, CSP Appah Abraham, CSP Ewere Okundaye, CSP Williams Odumu, SP Kenneth Egwunyenga amongst others.
Chief Alex Edozieuno, (62) and his driver, one Chukwuemeka, were killed by suspected gunmen on Friday along Ezu Bridge, Otuocha in the Anambra East Local Government Area of the State.
He was among the 13 Monarchs suspended last year for visiting the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in Abuja with oil mogul, Prince Arthur Eze, without authorisation by the State government.
Meanwhile, the Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Basil Ejidike, in a joint press conference on Sunday with the Director General of Andy Uba Campaign Organisation, Mr. Paul Chukwuma, had described the Monarch’s death as “political killing”.
