The issue of security is a collective responsibility and to this effect, the management of R & S Lotto Company has taken a lead step in contributing to the security of lives and properties in Onitsha Community by donating 6 brand new security motorcycles and 12 brand new high tech walkie talkie Communication gadget to the newly established Onitsha Ado Vigilante Service.

In speech during the handover of the equipment, the MD/CEO of R & S Lotto Chief Francis Chidiac ably represented by Mr. Charbel Chidiac expressed his heartfelt joy in contributing to the betterment of Onitsha community, adding that the Community has housed the company for over 10 years without any hitch, hence making Onitsha indigenes the highest beneficiaries of the company’s labour workforce standing at 70 percent.

Responding, the traditional ruler of Onitsha Ancient kingdom Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe (Agbogidi) who was on ground to receive the security equipment praised the Lotto management for their continued philanthropism work in Onitsha and beyond. The monarch counted several gestures and charity outreach of the company, noting that Onitsha Community has already adopted the company as their own. Igwe Achebe further poured encomiums on volunteers who donated three patrol vehicles to support the security architecture of the Community and called on Onitsha stakeholders to be part of the drive to improve and consolidate the efforts of the state government in securing the lives and properties of Onitsha Community and the state at large.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after handing over the equipment, the manager of R & S Lotto Chief Ralph Ogbogu Emejulu described Onitsha Community as a conduce environment for doing business, positing that part of the tools the company used in fighting crime is empowering the youth by employing and engaging them. He also stated that the security gadgets donation is to complement the efforts of the state government’s efforts. “The philanthropic nature of R & S Lotto is a yearly ritual that targets the less privileged. During the COVID-19 pandemic era, we went into various communities and donated food items to the downtrodden and we believe that as a company, this is our own cooperate social responsibility that must be done.” he added.

Also speaking, the Transition Chairman of Onitsha North Local Government Area, Hon Patrick Agha Mba who donated a brand new vehicle connected his donation to the consolidation of what Governor Willie Obiano is doing on security, reminding Ndi Anambra that security is a collective responsibility that requires every hand on deck.

Some notable dignitaries present at the event are; The traditional ruler of Onitsha kingdom Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe and his cabinet members, the transition Chairman of Onitsha North LGA Hon. Patrick Agha Mba, Former APGA House of Reps Aspirant Hon. Patrick Obiawon, President General of Onitsha Ado Community Sir Chike Ekweogwu, SSA to the Governor on youth development Hon. Eloka Egbunike among others.
