All roads literally led to Alor in Idemili South Local govt Area of Anambra State as mother of the first Rector of the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, Rev Fr Dr Marius Obiagwu buried remains of his mother, late Mrs Grace Nwamalubia Obiagwu alias Ochechinyelu who died at the age of 86.
The Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev Valerian Okeke was the Chief celebrant while the Catholic Bishop of Minna Diocese Most Rev Igwemezie Uzoukwu and dozens of priests assisted.
The homilist Rev Fr Arinzechukwu Okafor extolled the good virtues of late Mrs Obiagwu, describing her as a forthright and exemplary mother.
According to Fr Okafor her son, Rev Fr Marius Obiagwu took after his mother in kindness, good heart, good relationship with people and diligence in duty.
Fr Okafor also used the opportunity to appeal to town unions and church bodies to minimise expenses on burial ceremonies since such expenses have never brought back the dead to life and in view of the present hardship in the country.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Archbishop welcomed the congregants and prayed God to place her soul in the hands of Angels where there would be no more pain, sickness and sorrow. The Archbishop condoled with the entire Obiagwu family and all those touched by the death of Mrs Obiagwu.
