The parish priest of Blessed Iwene Tansi Parish, Awada, last Sunday called on the Anambra State government to save the residents of  Awada by constructing good roads within the area. The former rector, while describing the deplorable state of roads in Awada as a nightmare, enjoined Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration to change the narrative and put smiles on the faces of the tax payers in the area by commencing road constructions. “Awada can be said to be a neglected area in the state and by being neglected, it means a lack of government presence. Lack of good roads is a sign of lack of governance because if individuals can build roads, why can’t the government that collects taxes from people do the same and even more? Past administrations did nothing to help the situation and currently it is getting worse. Motorists are finding it difficult to ply the roads in the area. On this note, we call on the state government to focus attention here and build the roads.”
