The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has promised the families of its slain officers that their killers would be brought to justice. This was disclosed by the boss of the Commission, Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, while condoling with the deceased families, the Unit Commander of Igboukwu Command and the Management and staff of the Commission.
The patrol team were conducting routine patrol operations on Sunday, April 3 April at about 2:45 pm along Igboukwu-Uga route in Anambra State when the armed men opened fire at them, killing two of the Corps personnel, with one escaping into the bush. The team leader was however rushed to the hospital after sustaining severe injuries from the attack.
A visibly worried Oyeyemi condemned the attack and assured that all effort would be made to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
He said the Corps was already working with the Nigerian Police Force and other relevant security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act were arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
