… Archbishop Valerian Okeke, host of other priests in attendance

A funeral mass and the final burial rights for the eternal repose of Late Mrs Justina Uzzih was held at her hometown in Nimo, Njikoka LGA Anambra state on Thursday, 4th March, 2021. The Archbishop of Onitsha, His Grace Most Rev Dr Valerian Maduka Okeke was present and celebrated the vigil Mass the night before and was heartily welcomed and received by the family and entire Nimo community who came to commiserate with Uzzih family. The Archbishop was accompanied by host of other priests including the chancellor of the Archdiocese, Very Rev Fr Dr Prudentus Aroh, Very Rev Fr Dr Basil Ekwunife and others.

The crowd however became mammoth on the funeral day as family members, parishioners, friends and well wishers gathered in their numbers to pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Late Mrs Justina Uzzih and bid the deceased farewell amidst tears. The chancellor of the Archdiocese Very Rev Fr Dr Prudentus Aroh concelebrating with host of other priests prayed for the soul of the Late Mrs Justina Uzzih whom he described as a peacemaker. The deceased Late Mrs Justina Uzzih is the mother of Rev. Fr. Pascal Uzzih, the parish priest Immaculate Conception Parish Onitsha.

Preaching the homily during the mass, Rev. Fr. Charles Okwummuo urged Christians to always live a life of love, as he described Late Mrs Justina Uzzih as a woman of faith who believes so much in God until her last breath on earth, and a hardworking woman who works tirelessly for the things of God and for the good of humanity. Fr. Okwummuo further stated that the deceased was a woman without bitterness in her heart who died a peaceful death.

Appreciating their guests, the Son of the deceased Rev. Fr. Pascal Uzzih on behalf of the family articulated his sentiments of gratitude to the Archbishop of Onitsha His Grace Most Rev Dr Valerian Maduka Okeke for his visit the night before the funeral day, a visit he described as filled with love for the family. Fr. Pascal Uzzih also appreciated the priests led by the chancellor of the Archdiocese, Very Rev Fr Dr Prudentus Aroh, his parishioners at Immaculate Conception Parish MCC, Enugwu Aguleri Otu, and others gathered well wishers who made out time to come and commiserate with the Uzzih family.
The mass was followed by condolences and other burial rights in honour of the deceased, Late Mrs Justina Uzzih.
