Medical doctor’s wives under the aegis of Medical Doctor’s Wives Association Onitsha Zone last Thursday engaged students of the Anglican Girls Secondary School Ogidi,Anambra State, in Sex Education lecture to sensitize them on Dangers of Early Childhood Sex and consequences of disobedience to God’s word on good morals and steadfastness in faith.
The lead lecturer was Lady (Pharmacist) Adaeze Omaliko,an old student of the school who advised the students not to allow boys to get around them unnecessarily in order to avoid being pregnant and take the risk of abortion.
According to Lady Omaliko,girls who fall into early pregnancy and abortion,tend to destroy themselves, drop out of school and also risk acquiring sexually transmitted diseases which may lead to destruction of internal sexual organs and render them incapable of bearing children whenever they get married.
She urged the students to focus on their studies and come out in flying colours adding that after University education, they will find better people to marry.
Good morals, Lady Omaliko maintained,is one of the qualities which help to secure better future for young girls and also prepare them for better marriage and good families.
In her contribution, President of the Doctor’s Wives Association Onitsha Zone,Lady (Dr)Njideka Onyekwelu admonished the students to always live with the fear of God and lay a good foundation to enable them achieve their goals in life.
Other who spoke on the same topic are,Associate Professor Ngozi Okonkwo, Mrs Ngozi Okolo,Dr Nneka Arua,Mrs Agatha Osilo and Principal of the school,Mrs Chinenye Eke.
