Among the recent Graduates of Senator Victor Umeh Education Foundation (VUMEF), Mr Chukwuma Cyril Nwanazoba from Etiti-Awovu village, Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka L.G.A came out in flying colors, making First Class and Best Graduating Student of Chemical Engineering Department of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Recall that in 2018, Senator Victor Umeh representing Anambra Central in the Senate established a Scholarship Scheme with the purpose of training at least 70 intelligent but less-privileged persons (10 from each of the 7 Local Governments) in the Constituency. However, 76 lucky people were enlisted in the first phase and so far, 25 of them have graduated.

Following the unfortunate outcome of the 2019 Senatorial Election, these students feared that the exit of Senator Victor Umeh from the Senate may jeopardize their Education but notwithstanding, Senator Umeh in his magnanimity and extraordinary compassionate heart did not abandon them, he rather absorbed the 76 of them into his Education Foundation and continued to cater for them and hundreds of other beneficiaries.

Notably, Enugwu-Ukwu’s son, Mr Chukwuma Cyril Nwanazoba was among the latest graduates of the Scheme graduating top of his class.

Aside the 80 recent graduates in Undergraduate studies, Masters and Doctorate Degree programs, there were also 13 Secondary School Graduates of the Foundation who are expected to continue in higher Education thus, Senator Victor Umeh has already released a Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000) bank draft to the Board for the first phase of disbursements of school fees for the 2021/2022 academic year.

Congratulations to ndị Enugwu-Ukwu!
