As 2021 Anambra governorship election draws nearer, Hon. Zeribe Chukwuma Ezeanuna has officially declared his intention for the number one seat come November 6th 2021governorship election.
In a press conference organised in Holiday Hotel Resort, Onitsha on 18th March 2021, Hon. Zeribe promised traditional rulers Independence of government so that their revered voices could be heard without fears for the development of the state.
Hon. Zeribe who held from Achina in Aguata local government Area of Anambra state also assured that If voted into the number one seat, he shall declare state of emergency on Education, Technology, Agriculture and Healthcare.
Zeribe who is aspiring on platform People’s Democratic Party said within two years of his administration, he shall reduce if not eliminate the so called Security Vote accruing to the governor from more than #1.5 billion per month currently to Five Hundred Naira per month.
He further promised to restructure the civil service to accommodate the political class as provisional employees of the state, saying he shall allow civil servants to join and become card carrying members of political parties. He said he is aware of the inherit risk of abuse of power and position but said they must not act out of fear.
Hon Zeribe who said if nominated by PDP and elected as governor of Anambra state shall setup the following Commissions and make it to be self sustaining
- Technology Acquisition Commission (TAC)
2 Parks and Market Development Commission.(PMDC)
- Traditional Rulership Commission.(TRC), granting them Independence from the state government
- Entrepreneurship and Apprenticeship Commission (EAC).
- Anambra state Federal Service Commission (ASFSC)
- Diaspora Commission.
On security, Hon Zeribe said if nominated and elected as governor of Anambra state, he shall ensure that most of our youths branded as Biafrans, IPOB, Massob etc and remanded in prison custody without trial are released noting that as someone campaigning under the auspices of Ndi Anambra Youths whose turn it is to govern, he shall fight for the release of those Igbo youths who are political prisoners of conscience in various prisons in the South East region. He further promised to make sure that local vigilante groups and police have all they need to deal with security challenges in the state, and as such there would be no need to invite the Army into Anambra state or approve any shoot at sight order against the civilian.
