The immediate past President general of Catholic Men Organisation CMO Onitsha Archdiocese, Hon. Sir. Ifeanyichukwu E.S Nnajiaku ” Ksm” on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 gave account of stewardship after seven years of piloting the affairs of the the Organization. He also disclosed the circumstances that brought him into the leadership of Catholic Men Organisation in the prestigious Archdiocese of Onitsha.
Hon. Nnajiaku narrating his story said ” It was like a dream, but all that happens in someone’s life is a divine providence unvailing its self gradually. It was on June 14, 2014 when it pleased God that I would be elevated as the president general of Catholic Men Organisation Onitsha Archdiocese
“It was a 10am meeting of Catholic Men Organisation held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church Omagba that opened the door of leadership for me. I could remember vividly that it was a week their Church building was dedicated which was on penticost Sunday. I attended the meeting to respresent some one from my parish who supposed to attend it. On that faithful day, many things wanted to deter me from attending the meeting but I saw it as God’s plan”.
Hon Nnajiaku revealed that he arrived at the meeting few minutes to 3pm.” It was surprised to me that a meeting I attended to represent someone metamorphosised to a different dimension. I never knew that there would be an election but next thing I heard was the delegates who conducted the election to announce to the members to norminate people for the president general position”
The erudite scholar disclosed that when normination began, ” The person who norminated me was unknown to me until June 26, 2021 at St. Kevin Catholic Church Nnobi. After election, I was emerged victorious. Well, all I know is that my attending the meeting was a divine intervention and I am still giving God glory”
The Community leader also noted that he thought that he would undergo some orientation from his predicessor before asuming duty but he travelled to Holy land unprepared, ” When I traveled to Holy Land, i was unprepared but when I reached Holy Land, I prayed to God to transform and equip me so that I could transform others. Immediately I returned from Holy Land in December 2014, I was to pay courtesy call to His Eminence Francis Cardinal Arinze and he blessed me.
” I was inaugurated with my Exectives on February 7, 2015, at St.Domnic Catholic Church Agbaja, Abatete and our Motto was ” To Work through Our Lady” . We introduced Rosary and embarked on grassroot mobilization of Catholic Men members. We continued until we were able to penetrate all Parishes, Zones, Regions and concluded in consolidated Catholic Men Organisation in the Onitsha Archdiocese.”
The former president said he was highly elated that God answered his prayers and that of his exectives, pointing out that ” We anchored our power unto almighty God through the intercession of Our Mother Virgin Mary that we could be able to leave some legacies to our successors”
Highlighting his administration’s achievements, Hon Nnajiaku revealed that they procured Exective Bus through Governor Willie Obiano, Siana Car from Senetor Stella Odua and photocoping Machine. Other strides according to him include installation of Computer Sets, giant public address system, upgrading the accounting records of CMO, provision of CMO Liturgical Diary and Database in view.
Hon. Nnajiaku enumerated reviewing of CMO constitution, empowering of One hundred CMO members through Senator Stella Odua, reducing inherited indebtedness of CMO, introduction of CMO Trinity clapp and slogan as additional achievements during his tenure.
He as well noted that his administration renovated CMO office, enforced members to always put on CMO uniforms to meetings, introduced electoral guide lines to parishes, zones and regions and also acquisition of St. Joseph’s Giants Status through donation, affairming that God used him and his exectives to accomplish litany of achievements in the Catholic Men Organisation Onitsha Archdiocese.
He urged the new leadership led by Sir. Everistus Uba which he said he had handed over to on August 14, 2021 to continue where he stopped and improve on the already existing areas he deemed is good and introduce new things in the areas he could not touch, promising to support them so that CMO Onitsha Archdiocese would continue to grow in leaps and bounds.
He extolled the Archbishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, His Grace Most Rev. Valerian Maduka Okeke and His auxillary, His Lordship Most Rev. Denis Isizoh, Onitsha Archdiocesan Chancellor, Very Fr. Prudetius Aroh, Priests and Religious of Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha and lay faithfull for their support and co-operation during his tenure.
