The 2022 fathering Sunday celebration of the SS John and Paul lba Pope Awada, Obosi, in the ldemili north local government area of Anambra state recently came to a climax, with awards and trophy presentation to the winning house. Out of the five wards that contested for the football trophy, SS Jonh and Paul ward clinched the football trophy and it was presented to them by the chairman of the Parish Catholic Men Organisation, of the Parish Mr. Ephraim Emeleje. Commenting on the award and trophy contest, the Parish Priest of the church Rev. Father Victor Mbanusi commended Mr. Ephraim Emeleje and his lieutenants for successful 2022 fathering Sunday celebration. He also commended the Parish awardees for their selection and commitment to the progress and growth of the Parish and urged them not to relent. He advised fathers not to neglect their family responsibilities in training their children in pursuit of material wealth . Speaking to newsmen at the occasion, one of the recipients of the award as “Ambassador of the church” Mr. Nduka Chinedu a.k.a Ego bu Ogu expressed appreciation for the honor given to him by the church authority in selecting him among other people for the award. He pledged to strive more for the progress and growth of the Catholic Church. He expressed satisfaction for the able ways the Parish Priest of S.S John and Paul lba Pope Awada was giving them support in what they are doing. Also speaking, another recepient of the “Ambassador of the catholic church award” Mr.Patrick Udezue popularly known as “Japan” similarly expressed happiness for the honor. He also appreciated the roles and ingenuity of the Parish Priest Fr. Mbanusi towards the progress and growth of the Parish. Highpoint of the event was the donations made for the church development of which the leader of the Parish CWO, Mrs Henrietta Ozigbo and her vice secretary Chinyere Aguonu contributed immensely for the success of the celebration in which Award recepients were sumptuously entertained.
