It was indeed a refreshing moment and time of sober reflection when the knights and ladies of St Mulumba,Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Subcouncil ended this year’s two day retreat where honours were bestowed on their past executive members recently.
Members of the Subcouncil were led in the retreat by their Grand Knight,Sir (Hon)Jude Mbaegbu and the lady President Lady Maureen Umeh.
The two day retreat was conducted by Rev Fr Jude Onyeagolu, who lectured on a wide range of issues concerning the church, knighthood, the family and marriages.
Fr Onyeagolu reminded the knights that as soldiers of the church, they have a lot to do in terms of sacrifice which include their time, talent and treasure to keep the faith moving.
Later in a remark, the Grand Knight of the Subcouncil,Sir Jude Mbaegbu, reminded the knights and ladies that the Order of Knighthood of St Mulumba was not a social club.
According to him, knighthood is not for showing off in public places or intimidating the less privileged but to show good example of Christianity particularly Catholicism.
Some of the past Executive Members honoured at the event include the worthy past Metropolitan Grand Knight Sir Damian Okolo, the immediate past Grand Knight of the Subcouncil,Sir Gabby Nwankwo,Dr Raphael Omaliko,Sir Michael Abuah,Lady Ifeoma Nnaji,Sir Altar Boy Victor Orakwue,Sir Ekene Nwankwo,Sir Obiajulu Christopher Okonkwo,Sir Oduikolo,Sir Umeh and many others.
