The Knights and Ladies of St Mulumba,St Mary’s Subcouncil,Onitsha have begun the necessary rites of Passage to prepare one of their late sisters,Lady Rita Chinwe Mozie fondly called “Chinny” by her friends for her final journey to the great beyond.
They were led in the rites known in the knighthood as “Office For the Dead” which involves prayers and supplication to God to receive her soul in His bosom and grant her a peaceful rest until the resurrection day when brothers and sisters will meet to part no more.
“Chinny”,a vibrant, vivacious and sociable lady, was known in Onitsha social circle and the teaching profession where she belonged as a lovely and likeable personality.
She endeared herself to all that came across her with her infectious smiles.
Her generousity knew no bounds as she was prepared to spend her last Penny on the needy.
Sadly,Chinny retired not too long before death came calling. She was looking after her aged mother and no one knew or expected this tragedy would strike.
This evening, the knights and ladies led by their Grand Knight Sir Joe Epundu, the Lady President,Lady Ndiwe,Noble Officer, Lady Stella Epundu, spent time with members of the family after the prayers in preparation for a befitting burial for their departed sister.
May her precious soul rest in peace.
