Members of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Onitsha Zone on Sunday, ended activities of their weeklong Physicians’ Week pledging to Re-dedicate themselves to the tenets of their Noble profession which involves saving human lives.
Chairman of the NMA Onitsha Zone,Dr (Sir)Moses Ugwueke while making a remark said that apart from remaining committed to their duties,the Physicians’ Week was aimed at highlighting the hard work and dedication of it’s members and the differences they make in people’s lives throughout the year.
Dr Ugwueke gave the theme of this year’s Physicians’ Week as,”Nigeria In the Covid era: Health System Strengthening for National Security and Prosperity”.
The Physicians’ Week was flagged off by the state chairman,Dr Jide Onyekwelu.
Major highlights of the Physicians’ Week are,conferment of Merit Awards to two of its distinguished members Dr P I Okolo and Dr John paul Okoyeocha as well as charity visits to motherless babies homes and homes of the needy,lectures,novelty football match and rededication service at the All Saints Cathedral,Onitsha.
