It was a memorable event when the Onitsha Archdiocesan consecrated Men and women converged in their numbers to mark 2022, consecrated day.

The event which coincided with the feast of presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ was held at Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha, Anambra State and began with concelebrated Holy Mass presided over by the auxiliary Bishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Danis Chidi Isizoh.

In his homily, Bishop Isizoh explained that the sgnificant of burning candles light during presentation of Jesus Christ denotes that Christ is the light of the world, stating that  consecrated men and women through their sacrificial living imitate Jesus Christ.

He charged all Christians to always show lights of honesty, sincerity, humility and oneness where ever they find themselves, just as he noted that Consecrated Day is a day set aside for all the consecrated men and women who are labouring in the Lord’s vein yard in the Onitsha Archdiocese.

In the address of welcome which presented and read by the president of Onitsha Archdiocesan Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, Very Rev. Br. Goodnews Iwuoha, BSS, he defined Consecrated life as a life of sacrifice, adding that the Consecrated persons profess the followings; Secred public vows of Evangelization, vow of poverty, Chastity and Obedient.

Br. Goodnews while responding to interview explained that the duties of religious is to witness through their way of lives, stating that witnesses take various dimensions; prophetic, Apostolic, preachings among others.

He thanked  Archbishop Valerian Okeke and his auxiliary, Bishop Danis Isizoh for their overwhelming supports, urging the Consecrated men and women to be good ambassadors where ever they are serving, even as he said that the event was a celebration of identities of Consecrated persons.

In his appreciation remarks, the Onitsha Archdiocesan Episcopal Vicar for the religious, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ndubuisi BSS immensely praised Bishop Isizoh who he said always responded to every activities of the religious.

He said, the event afforded everyone opportunity to partake in the feast of presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ,  eulogizing all and sundry who graced the occasion.
