Motorists plying some internal roads in Onitsha City had cause to smile when their nightmare disappeared following palliative repairs on some bad portions of internal roads in Onitsha City.
The Christian women under the aegis of Sister’s Fellowship International,Onitsha Area 4,led by the Area President,Evangelist Mrs Amaka Enemosah, repaired bad portions at Court Road and Benjamin Street junction as well as the adjoining streets where vehicles were stuck for hours, causing heaving gridlock.
According to Mrs Enemosah, the women out of personal contributions, bought a trip of stone, bags of cement and sand to fill the huge potholes dotted across the roads which has resulted into free flow of traffic.
Enemosah told Journalists that it was part of the women’s yearly community service programme which they embark upon to support the state and local government.
The Sister’s fellowship International is a non denominational Association.
It would be recalled that Area 4 members of the Sisters Fellowship led by Evangelist (Mrs)Amaka Enemosah and her team, embarked on environmental outreach in 2019 where her group hired tippers and labour to cart away refuse in strategic refuse dumps and sites.
The Court Road/Benjamin/Old Hospital Road junctions repaired by the women has caused motorists terrible nightmares due to the huge potholes.
