My motivating factor in my priesthood within the past ten years is heaven. I am not only leading souls to heaven but I am also targeting heaven and that has been my sincere desire.
‘Since the day of my ordination I am seeing the priesthood as mystery and no one can unravel it. In spite of the hurdles and challenges so far, today I am fulfilled because God is actually doing His work because we are just an instrument. In other words, priesthood is really a mystery and no one can understand it; but God is manifesting Himself in us the priests every now in the course of doing this work and definitely, we are doing it well”. Fr. Benjamin further promised the church total commitment in doing his priestly work so that the church will in turn be proud of him in doing the work.
On his father who marked 80th birthday same day, Fr. Benjamin said they thanked God for the endowing him with sound health, disclosing that at 80, their father doesn’t frequent hospital because he is very strong. ”We pray God to shower him with more blessing of good health”. He also described his Late Mother as good, virtuous, caring, loving and humble woman. ” In fact, if I should get a little of her virtues, heaven is already my target. I wish that people will emulate her foot prints, especially in the aspect of cheerfulness, being happy when some other people are being blessed by God”. He appreciated all that graced the occasion, praying God to bless and keep them.
One of the sons of Pa Elias Ojukwu, Mr. Malachy Chukwuebuka Ojukwu while congratulating their father described him as peaceful man who always fight for the truth. ” Our father is simply a just man and a jolly fellow”. He thanked God for his mercies on their family. He also rained accolades on his brother Fr. Benjamin, stating that he is truly a priest of God who is sincerely committed in his priestly ministry. In the other hand, I described our mum as a quintessence mother. Our mother was a virtuous, caring, loving and humble woman. In fact, she was simply the best.
Some guests and parishioners from Our Lady Queen of Apostle parish Genesis Estate 33 and St. Francis of Xavier, 33. who spoke to Trinitas testified that Fr. Benjamin Ojukwu has already made an indelible marks in his priesthood within the past ten year. He was also described by his parishioners as hard-working pastor who is labouring so hard for the good of the faithful, taking good care of them and uplifting their faith. “He is following the foot steps of Christ. He is a good listener, an organiser per excellence, a builder, very accommodative and a motivational preacher, they revealed.
