According to him, those planning to build houses should look for experienced engineers who spent some years in the higher institutions just to acquire the right knowledge in erecting buildings.” If you go for quack or roadside engineers who learnt it via apprenticeship, because you may pay less, just be aware that you are gambling with your money and may even end up putting some lives at risk because you never know when the house will collapse.
Some masons and bricklayers today introduce themselves as engineers once they learnt how to interpret house plans. Such people can lead you into a big mess” Also, whenever you are planning to build a house, find out the level of qualification the Engineer you are planning to contract is possessing. Don’t be deceived by his appearance or how beautiful/ intimidating his office complex maybe, just carry out an investigation to ascertain whether he is qualified to handle your project.” Engr Oguama further charged the government to assist in sanitizing the engineering profession by restraining half baked engineers from handling house projects so that building collapse can be checkmate permanently.
He also stated that his own company Double Eagle Engineering and Consultancy services limited is ready to give the best services to those intending to build houses.
