…confirms over 200 candidates

The Regina Pacis Model Secondary School Onitsha were on Saturday 27th February 2021 set agog as the proprietor of the school and the Metropolitan of Onitsha ecclesiastical province, His Grace Most Rev Dr Valerian Maduka Okeke paid a historic pastoral visit to the school amidst pomps and cheers. The pastoral visit yet again witnesses a mammoth crowd comprising staff and management of the school, parents and as well students who came out in their numbers to welcome the Archbishop of Onitsha and play a worthy host to the prelate. The highpoint of the event however was the administration of the sacrament of confirmation by the Archbishop Valerian Okeke on over 200 candidates.
Preaching the homily during the mass, Archbishop Valerian Okeke with the theme ‘sustaining our successes’ adviced that the school and the students should not reduce theirselves to being ordinary but rather strive for perfection. Archbishop Valerian Okeke further listed planning, projection, practice, perseverance and prayer as keys that helps to sustain ones success noting that successes must be sustained by one setting herself on the frequency of excellence especially by not relenting but persevere.
Appreciating his guests, the director of the school Rev.Fr Paschal Okonkwo thanked the Archbishop for his love towards the institution which he described as being visible and consistent. Fr. Paschal Okonkwo further appreciated Archbishop Valerian Okeke for his support to the school during the building of the Golden Hostel. He further appreciated the priests for their presence especially to the parish priest of St Mary’s Parish Onitsha, Rev Fr Johnbosco Okafor for his act of kindness and love.
The director of Regina Pacis Secondary school and St Rita Institute of Catering and Management studies Rev. Fr. Paschal Okonkwo who spoke to Trinitas expressed happiness over the visit, stating that they have been strengthened in faith, adding that the visit will go a long way in encouraging them to work harder in maintaining the academic excellence and moral probity.
Speaking on the secrets behind the academic excellence the school is known for, the director disclosed he has been applying the wealth of knowledge and experiences he garnered during his overseas studies in running the school, thanking Archbishop Valerian who made his overseas studies possible.
Mr Kanayo Ojuma JP who chaired the event praised the efforts of the college in impacting both quality education and sound morals on students, revealing that he is satisfied with the academic performances of her two daughters in the school.
A parent Mrs Ezinwa Obiukwu who spoke to the press expressed gratitude to the school, testifying that her first daughter who graduated from the school , received the best academic and moral training parents would long for their wards, adding that she is happy having her second daughter in the school.
The school staged a brief reception of the Archbishop for entertainment and as well for the purpose of staying together as an institution and celebrate.
