There is a serious reaction coming from the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese Most Rev Callistus Onaga as he condemns the unfolding Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka scenario in Enugu.
Reliable information reaching our News Desk said Bishop Onaga has issued a strong worded statement condemning the actions of followers of the fiery Priest who descended on the church building and the Bishops Court and desecrated the Holy place of worship.
The official statement from the Bishop said,
“On 5th May,2021,followers of Rev Fr Camillus Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry,Enugu,Nigeria, violently broke into the Diocesan Cathedral Church and desecrated the Holy altar of sacrifice.
Over and above this, they brutally vandalized the Diocesan Bishops residence, the Cathedral Parish house and the Secretariat building complex”.
Bishop Onaga further said in his letter,”I hereby declare and call for a one week Union of prayer in reparation and atonement for this heinous act against our central place of worship and the santitity of the church.
The prayer begins from Friday 7th May to Friday 14th May,2021.Every Parish,Chaplaincy and religious community in the Diocese is obliged to participate in this Holy activity”.
Apart from urging the faithful to reflect the incident in their May Devotion prayers, Bishop Onaga enjoined the faithful to remain sober and keep the diocese in prayer.

It would be recalled that followers of Priest in charge of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Enugu last Thursday took to the streets in the capital city of Enugu,to protest the absence of the priest in charge,Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka.
The faceoff between the Presidency and the priest had fueled suspicion that the fiery Priest may have been abducted or arrested by federal agents prompting his absence at the weekly Wednesday Adoration.
The Department of State Security (DSS) promptly denied his arrest.
However, what many assumed he was “arrested or missing” turned out to be a meeting which he was said to be invited by the Bishop of Enugu Diocese,Most Rev Callistus Onaga concerning his face-off with the Presidency.
Reacting to Fr Mbaka’s absence at the Adoration Ground while attending the meeting with the Bishop,it was reported that the protesting members of his ministry, mainly youths had trooped to the Bishops Court to find out the true position and whereabout of their Priest when suspected hoodlums smashed some glass windows and chairs in and outside the Cathedral church and the Bishops Court which many had condemned.
While the protest lasted some hours into the day,Fr Mbaka reportedly surfaced among his followers.
