Tuesday 5th October, 2021 will remain evergreen in the memory of the Staff and Students of Sacred Heart College Nteje as they officially inaugurated the 2021/2022 academic and formative year.
The event started with the Holy Mass with Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Paschal Onwugbenu, Education Secretary Onitsha Archdiocese, as the Chief celebran.
In his homily titled ‘Gods sufficiency completes our deficiency’ he encouraged the students to trust in themselves as well as in God in order to be successful and effective.
Expressing his gratitude, the Principal/Manager of Sacred Heart College, Nteje, Rev. Fr. Kizito Ezeaniekwe thanked the Education Secretary for his commitment to the cause of Education in the Archdiocese. He described him as an inspiration, model and intellectual juggernaut to any student aspiring towards the height of success. He also commended the students and staff for their docility and malleability to positive change.
The second segment of the day’s event was the solemn inauguration of the Academic Year as well as the presentation of Gifts to the students who distinguished themselves in Academics, the previous academic year, which took place in the school hall. Prices were awarded to fifteen (15) students across JS2 to SS2; three beneficiaries from each class, with Master Udekwe Divine in SS2 clinching the Award of the School’s Overall Best Student.
Fr. Paschal Onwugbenu futher challenged the students to be ‘Game Changers’ and emphasized the three Ds – Determination, Dedication and Devotion to God. These, according to him, will set them on the path of success in education so that they will reap the benefits of education such as: creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In his own remarks, the Vice Principal, Mr. Godwin Ekwealor expressed the collective sentiment of gratitude of the staff and students and prayed on God’s blessings on everyone.
