The Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District,Princess Stella Oduah has empowered over 200 youths on Fishery Management and Aquaculture.
The training which was held at Osomala in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra state attracted beneficiaries across the seven local government areas making Anambra North Senatorial Zone.
Trinitas observed that the training excercise was in collaboration with the National Institute For Fresh Water Fisheries Research,New Bussa,Niger State.
In a telephone interview,the Senator said the numerous trainings she introduced many years ago were among many of her initiatives to provide jobs and empowerment for the youths.
According to the Senator,she has for long,given jobs and direction to many youths,the less privileged,widows,priests and market women who cut across Anambra North Senatorial District.
The training programme which lasted for two days ended with provision of start-up funds for the trainees to enable them become useful to themselves,the society and eventually become employers of labour.
In his remarks,a senior member of the Senator Stella Oduah Media team,Mr Charles Umunna commended Senator Oduah for her initiative in drawing thousands of youths from unemployment through her empowerment and skill acquisition programmes.
According to Mr Umunna,many of the beneficiaries have settled down and fending for themselves and their families.
He pointed out that Senator Oduah pioneered the initiative of skill acquisition for the youths before she became a minister,not to talk of being the incumbent Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District where she has excelled in empowerment.
The Senator he said,has endeared herself not to Anambra North citizens alone but to all Nigerians and the political class who are now emulating her.
