Tears flowed freely last Wednesday as the remains of late Lady Molokwu were brought for last respects at her last place of work,the Sancta Maria Nursery and Primary School,Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity,Onitsha.
The pupils and teachers were led in the last mock assembly for the deceased by the school headmistress,Lady Ndidi Ononye,where the teachers and pupils bade her farewell with songs,prayers and a brief tribute read by the headmistress,Lady Ndidi Ononye.
As part of the final tribute and honour,the school rang a bell announcing her final exit from the school.
As that was done,emotions ran very high such that many of the teachers and pupils broke down and wept.
The bell ringer,a teacher also broke down and shed tears while announcing the final exit of lady Molokwu.
Until her death,lady Molokwu was the Assistant headmistress in the school.
Earlier in the day,her remains were at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Church,Onitsha where a funeral mass was celebrated for peaceful repose of her soul.
Delivering a sermon during the funeral mass,Rev Fr Anthony Obi paid glowing tribute to late Lady Molokwu whom he described as an exemplary teacher so dedicated and punctual and committed to early morning masses before going to school.
In his remarks,Rector of the Basilica re-echoed fr Anthony’s homily pointing out that Lady Molokwu lived an exemplary Christian life.
Rev Fr Francis Ojukwu,a Chaplain of the knights of St Mulumba was the Chief celebrant.
Knights and ladies of St Mulumba from Onitsha subcouncil where lady Pauline and her husband Sir Molokwu belonged attended the funeral mass.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
