The Catholic community of St Theresa’s parish Umunya recently honoured the Spiritual director Communio Sanctorum Adoration ministry Very Rev Prof. Bonachristus Umeogu for his humanitarian services.
Shortly before presenting the merit award, the Catholic community in a statement described Fr Umeogu as one of the best priests that have worked in their town, disclosing how he transformed many lives through his ministry.
The community also revealed that through Fr Umeogu’s connections and assistance, lot of youths who were jobless are now enjoying lucrative jobs while those faced with great challenges such as sickness, business failures, childlessness etc. have received God’s favours via his ministry, positing that Communio Sanctorum Adoration ministry has remained a huge blessing to their town.
Fr Umeogu who spoke to Trinitas Shortly after receiving the award described St Theresa’s parish as a wonderful parish, disclosing that he gave all he has to make sure the sacraments of the church and the word of God are well honoured in that Catholic community.
His words; “I did it because l felt that the vocation call of every Christian is to obey the word of God and make use of the sacraments of the church. These sacraments are meant to lead us to God. They contain a sign of an inward grace that can make somebody prosper as well as get salvation. So I strongly thought them how to use the word of God and sacraments of the church to attain salvation.”
“The humanitarian services award I bagged from this Catholic community clearly shows they recognized my efforts in their parish and I am happy they didn’t forget what I did. It is really the sign of their love for me.
The spiritual director also informed the public that his ministry is currently holding her activities at Amaezike village in the same Umunya. According to him, Vigil/adoration comes up every Friday night while every Wednesday is a day for prayers. “We also observe first Fridays and Saturdays there. God is really performing His miracles at our adoration ground.”
“We have another adoration ground at Abagu Awka, opposite Unizik permanent site. Prayers hold every Thursdays while consultation holds every Tuesday at Awka. “
“I urge everyone to seek God in our ministry because If you don’t have Christ, you have nothing. When you have Christ but you have nothing, you have everything”, he stated.
