In a more committed effort to assist the government in saving lives of pedestrians the new president Christ Ambassadors Association of Nigeria Amb. Kingsley Agbasiere, on Sunday disclosed the readiness of the association to install traffic signs at Upper Iweka express way in order to save lives.

Amb. Agbasiere made the disclosure while delivering his presidential speech during the inauguration of the newly elected executive of the body. He disclosed that the association has raised fund for installing the traffic signs, saying they are only waiting for government approval.

He expressed worries that thousands of pedestrians are crossing the express way at the heart of Upper Iweka on daily basis without pedestrian lane, describing it as a situation that required urgent attention, stressing that the kind of risk pedestrians are exposing themselves to in the name of crossing a very busy road is what prompted the association to move into the rescue mission project. He recalled that in the past many people have lost their lives while crossing the said road, adding that a repeat of such occurrence should be avoided this time.

According to him, apart from taking proper care of her members, the association has severally visited many less privileged homes, and gifted them with food materials and other items for their welfare. He made it clear that such humanitarian services will be redoubled this time, describing the gestures as one of the core missions for establishing the association.

The new president who was returned via election for second term stated that the organization will leave no stone unturned to ensure that onesnes and spiritual upliftment of the members are sustained, adding that his administration will increase the financial strength of the body.

Members of the association he explained are Catholics who decided to associate for common good, stating that the membership is still open to young Catholics who might be interested to participate in humanitarian services, disclosing that they use to hold meeting at No. 11 Miss Elems Street Fegge Onitsha last Sundays of every month.

The new seecretary general of the association Amb. Christian Mary Chukwuemeka Nwaogbu who spoke to the press said the the association is rooted in Catholic faith , revealing that for past years, the spiritual programms the body use to organise frequently has greatly shaped the life style of the members. He also promised to work towards the progress and growth of the organization since his fellow members found him worthy to serve as the Secretary on second term basis.

Also a member of the association Amb. Augustine Obiako commended the new executive especially those who are serving their second term, stating they performed very well during their first tenure. He expressed joy that the members are really living out the motto of the body which is “love and charity”.

Anthony Mba ( Vice Secretary), Emmanuel Obodoagu,( Fin. Sec), Vitus Igwe (Treasurer). Others are Ambassadors Onyebuchi Ezema( provost 1), Stanley Iwuagwu (provost 11)
Ifeanyi Obiora ( DOS 1), Theophilus Emenike ( DOS 11), Bede Ugwuadu (PRO).
