A senior citizen of Anambra state Chief Sir Patrick Ikeotonye ( Mmiri 1 of Agulu) last Sunday added voice to the series of calls on the executive governor of Anambra State His Excellency Chief Dr Willie Obiano to pardon the suspended Anambra monarchs.
Chief Ikeotonye who made the plea while chatting with the press stated that no one is doubting the fact that those traditional rulers committed wrong by travelling out of the state to meet with President Buhari without permission from the state governor, but since they have shown signs of remorse by begging for forgiveness, we, therefore, urge our dynamic and ebullient governor to forgive them.
Chief Ikeotonye further commended the government for reopening of schools, though expressed worries that it may take another three years for students and government to recover from damages the five months school closure may have caused. He advised students to take their studies seriously as that is the only way to recover fast academically from the Covid19 lockdown.
