As inauguration of Prof Chukwuma Soludo ( next governor of of Anambra state) draws near, a woman leader cum activist Mrs Oby Onwuzuluoha last Sunday called on the incoming administration to tackle insecurity, illegal revenue collection and road construction and rehabilitation.
Mrs Onwuzuluoha who is currently the president Catholic Women Organization ( CWO) St Mary’s parish Odorubber, Iyiowa, Odekpe insisted that the areas mentioned should form incoming adminstration’s priority as the situation is getting out of hand in Anambra.
She expressed worries that many people are now victims of insecurity situation in the state, a development that may discourage investors from entering the state if urgent steps are not taking. The woman leader also pointed out that most of the state roads are in bad shape, expressing fear that once rainy season sets in, motorists will land into trouble.
Mrs Onwuzuluoha further called on Soludo’s administration to increase women participation in governance, advising that forty percent female appointees may not be a bad idea.
Soludo victory at the polls she said is a prayer answered, adding that she is thanking God for producing him as the governor elect .
” We are equally asking him to leave no stone unturned in making Anambra the light of the nation in reality not on paper”.
